Fresh from the farm

We proudly produce high-quality, sustainably-raised vegetables, fruits, beef, lamb and breeding stock.

  • Great-tasting, nutritious meats

At Starborn Farms, our cattle and sheep live and eat outside. We mimic natural herd migration patterns to give our livestock a steady supply of nutrient-dense grass and plenty of room to move around. This helps them grow and stay healthy, while increasing biodiversity on our farm and building carbon and nutrients in our soil - and it produces great-tasting, nutritious beef and lamb.

  • Seasonal fruit & vegetables

We farm over 10 acres of fresh fruits and vegetables each year. Our bounty is available to local restaurants and at our Farm Gate stand.

  • Canadian Arcott ewe lambs & rams

Our breed of choice, Canadian Arcotts are easy-going, easy-care sheep. Developed in Canada, they’re ideal for our climate and market. Medium size, thick, fast-growing, Canadian Arcotts produce a high-quality meat. They adapt well to winter confinement and thrive on the pasture from spring to late fall.

We’re proud to raise ewe lambs and rams for replacement and breeding stock for ourselves and for other farmers growing their flocks.

  • Simmental & Angus x Simmental cattle

Our purebred Simmentals make up the base of our herd. Outstanding growth and performance, combined with unbeatable milk production and mothering abilities, makes these cattle rockstars. We raise high-quality females for our own herd and for other like-minded farmers wanting to build their herds.

We also breed Angus x Simmental cattle (F1), which provide a top commercial cow or high-quality beef to feed our family and customers alike. Because we’re a family-run farm, we select our replacements (seedstock) for structural soundness, growth, mothering abilities and docility.

  • Guardian donkeys

We raise working livestock guardian donkeys that live alongside our sheep and cattle. Buddy and Jenny live with and care for our herd of cows and baby calves, protecting them from predators like coyotes and wolves. Jenny can often be found watching over newborn calves as they bond with their mothers and learn to follow the herd.

Forest and Sunny live with and care for our flock of sheep. They can be seen bringing in the flock from pasture each night to the safety of the paddock and shelter. We couldn’t have asked for a better security team!
